The city has been insulated, in part, by the number of government and military jobs, but the manufacturing core that has been the backbone of this corner of Pennsylvania continues to erode. Young college graduates, steelworkers and small-business owners are all feeling the pain.
Justin Roberts, 25, is a recent college graduate who has been unable to find work in his chosen field, international development. He does pickup work as a bartender for weddings at the local steelworkers' union hall in Steelton, Pa.
