Q: Considering everything, do you think most Afghans support or oppose what the United States is trying to do in Afghanistan?
Question 18 of 63
In this poll:
A majority of Republicans say for the first time that the war in Afghanistan has not been worth fighting, according to a Washington Post-ABC News poll that comes as the continuing U.S. presence in that country is emerging as a key point of contention in the presidential race.
This Washington Post-ABC News poll was conducted by telephone April 5-8, 2012, among a random national sample of 1,103 adults, including landline and cell phone-only respondents, including additional interviews with randomly selected African Americans, for a total of 199 black respondents. The added interviews (commonly referred to as an “oversample”) were completed to ensure there were enough respondents for separate analysis; the group is not over-represented in the reported results. Results for the full sample have a 3.5 point error margin. Sampling, data collection and tabulation by Abt-SRBI of New York. NOTE: Due to rounding, results may not add to 100 percent, and percentages may not equal combined results. Groups are not displayed if fewer than 100 people in the category were interviewed
