This Washington Post-Kaiser Family Foundation poll was conducted by telephone July 25 to August 5, 2012, among a random national sample of 3,130 adults, including users of both conventional and cellular phones. The results from the full survey have a margin of sampling error of plus or minus two percentage points; error margins are 3.5 points for the samples of 1,027 Democrats and 1,054 independents and four points for the sample of 846 Republicans.
