After more than a decade of war, the public strongly supports President Obama’s plan to draw down U.S. troops in Afghanistan by 2016. There are mixed messages for Obama however, with tempered approval of his handling of the war and wide concern over the problems at VA hospitals. The public has lingering questions about Benghazi with a majority disapproving of Hillary Clinton’s role as Secretary of State for that event. Read related article.

Source: This Washington Post-ABC News poll was conducted by telephone May 29 to June 1, 2014, among a random sample of 1,002 adults. Interviews were conducted in English and Spanish on landlines and cell phones. The results have a margin of sampling error of plus or minus 3.5 percentage points.
