Public critical of both Obama and Republicans on immigration wave

Nearly 6 in 10 disapprove of the way President Obama is handling the situation at the U.S.-Mexico border, and an even larger majority disapproves of congressional Republicans. Each receives significant criticism from fellow partisans in the national poll. A slight majority supports Obama’s $3.7 billion plan to deal with the influx of immigrant children into the country. SOURCE: This Washington Post-ABC News poll was conducted by telephone July 9 to 13 among a random sample of 1,016 adults. Interviews were conducted in English and Spanish on land lines and cellphones. The results have a margin of sampling error of plus or minus 3.5 percentage points.
