Congressional leaders on Thursday reach an agreement on a temporary funding bill that will put workers who’ve been furloughed for nearly two weeks back on the job.
Aug. 4, 2011 U.S. Rep. Steve LaTourette (R-Ohio) speaks during a news conference on Capitol Hill before an agreement on temporary Federal Aviation Administration funding was announced. LaTourette said that Sen. Tom Coburn (R-Okla.) would not agree to the extension of the FAA funding unless the subsidies for 10 rural airports were ended. The partial shutdown of the FAA has resulted in the loss of $30 million in lost taxes a day and the furlough of 4,000 workers. Alex Wong/Getty Images Buy Photo
