On Thursday, May 10, The Washington Post will gather government leaders and experts across the energy sector to discuss some of the most pressing issues affecting the safety, security and future of the country’s energy infrastructure and electric grid.
They will examine ongoing efforts to secure our nation's energy infrastructure, explore how vulnerable the United States may be to an energy cyber hack by a foreign country and discuss the resilience and reliability of the nation’s power grid.

Chairman, Federal Energy Regulatory Commission
Chairman Kevin J. McIntyre was nominated to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission by President Donald J. Trump in August 2017 and confirmed by the U.S. Senate on November 2, 2017. Prior to joining the Commission, Chairman McIntyre was the co-leader of the global Energy Practice at the law firm Jones Day.
Vice Admiral Dennis McGinn (Ret.)
Former Assistant Secretary of the Navy for Energy, Installations and Environment, U.S. Department of the Navy; Advisory Board Member, The Center for Climate and Security
Dennis McGinn was appointed and served as Assistant Secretary of the Navy for Energy, Installations and Environment from September 2013 until January 2017. McGinn is former President of the American Council on Renewable Energy (ACORE) and a past member of the Steering Committee of the Energy Future Coalition, United States Energy Security Council, Bipartisan Policy Center Energy Board, and CNA Military Advisory Board.
Samantha Gross
Fellow, Cross-Brookings Initiative on Energy and Climate, The Brookings Institution
Samantha Gross is a fellow in the Cross-Brookings Initiative on Energy and Climate. Her work is focused on the intersection of energy, environment, and policy, including climate policy and international cooperation, energy efficiency, unconventional oil and gas development, regional and global natural gas trade, and the energy-water nexus.
