Director of Advocacy, Feeding America

David Lee is the Director of Government Relations and Advocacy at Feeding america, where, as a member of the National Public Policy team, he oversees state policy, government relations, and advoacy functions for the nation’s largest anti-hunger charity.

Prior to moving to the Midwest, David led the anti-hunger initiative at the Jewish Federation of Greater Los Angeles. The initiative synergized the Federation’s community affairs, government advocacy, social action, fundraising, and grant-making work to address hunger in Los Angeles. Working in partnership with MAZON: A Jewish Response to Hunger, David served as the principal co-author of “Hungry No More: A Blueprint to End Hunger in Los Angeles,” the Federation’s highly regarded anti-hunger policy paper. The paper was adopted by the City, County, and School District as the framework for coordinating their anti-hunger efforts.

Prior to joining Feeding America, David worked at Hunger Task Force where he worked to strengthen the emergency food network in Milwaukee by developing food pantry capacity. As a former professional chef, he performed a cooking demonstration using only donated and TEFAP food on opening day of the Wisconsin State Fair. He attended Vassar College.
