Erna Colborn

Erna Colborn is president and CEO of the Alzheimer’s Association Greater Illinois Chapter -- one of the largest Chapters in the Alzheimer’s Association. The Chapter has six offices with staff throughout the state and serves 68 Illinois counties. She has been with the Association for more than 13 years, serving as CEO since April 2007.

At the chapter, Colborn focuses on advancement of the Association’s mission, donor relations, staff and organizational management and advancing public policy.

Colborn’s experience includes non-profit executive leadership, organizational management, communications, public relations, community relations, donor relations, fundraising, organizational change, human resources, advocacy and public policy.

Prior to joining the Association, Colborn worked for the Severson Dells Education Foundation for one year as its executive director and for the Barbara Olson Center of Hope for 12 years in various positions involving fundraising, human resources and operations.

Colborn began her career in Washington D.C. as an assistant to Sen. Charles Percy, (R-Ill.) and press secretary to Sen. Jeremiah Denton (R-Ala.) while pursuing graduate work in communications and international law at American University. Colborn has an MBA from Keller Graduate School of Management and is certified in the fields of fundraising and human resources.
