Barclays's Gapen Expects `Longer Slowdown' for U.S.

June 3 (Bloomberg) -- Michael Gapen, chief U.S. economist at Barclays Capital, discusses the country's economy and Federal Reserve policy. Employers added a less-than-projected 54,000 jobs last month, after a revised 232,000 gain in April that was smaller than initially estimated, Labor Department figures showed today in Washington.
