Announcement from Morning Mix Editor Fred Barbash:
We’re delighted to introduce Timothy Bella as the new deputy editor of Morning Mix. As some of you know, Timothy has been working with us for six weeks under contract. He impressed us all with his skillful editing, leadership abilities and the occasional story he found time to write between his other responsibilities.
Timothy has spent the last few years as a freelance writer based in Brooklyn, writing for Esquire, The Atlantic, New York Magazine and ESPN’s The Undefeated, among other publications. His wide range of subjects have included Curt Schilling, Anthony Scaramucci, Lakeith Stanfield, Mia Khalifa and Insane Clown Posse.
Timothy previously worked for Al Jazeera America, CBS News and ESPN The Magazine.
He grew up in Houston but has New Jersey DNA, which may account for the fact that he has seen Bruce Springsteen perform 19 times. He’s a graduate of Texas Christian University and earned a masters at Columbia’s Graduate School of Journalism, where he was a Stabile fellow. He’s joined in Washington by his wife, Betsy, who is a health-care consultant.
Please stop by some night and say hello.
