Announcement from Universal Desk Editor Kenisha Malcolm, Deputy Universal Desk Editor Emily Tsao and Homepage Editor Chris George:

We are pleased to announce that Alisa Tang will become the Universal Desk’s new Weekend Home Page Editor.

Alisa joined The Post in August 2017 as an Overnight Home Page Editor, helping to move alerts, edit stories and produce our digital platforms, including homepage, tablet and mobile apps — responsibilities she'll continue as the Weekend Home Page Editor. When she is not working the weekends, she’ll also play a key role three weekday mornings, helping edit breaking news stories and alerts.

Prior to The Post, Alisa lived abroad for 15 years. She was based mostly in Bangkok, but reported and edited stories from countries such as Afghanistan and Papua New Guinea, mostly for the Associated Press and the Thomson Reuters Foundation, the organization’s humanitarian news arm.

Alisa is a native of Red Bud, Illinois. On her days off, she enjoys biking and hiking with her husband and daughter, and she is re-learning how to play the piano and tennis. She speaks Thai and French.

We’re excited to have Alisa begin her new role on Oct. 18.
