Annie joins us from The Boston Globe’s Washington bureau, where she has worked for the last four years, and most recently served as deputy bureau chief. Annie distinguished herself as an authority on Sen. Elizabeth Warren, landing deeply reported stories on Warren’s legal career and the issue of Native American heritage. Annie covered the 2016 presidential campaign of Hillary Clinton and has covered the Trump administration and the politics of immigration.
Before that she reported for Bloomberg News, where she wrote an early piece about the rising influence of Republican mega-donor Robert Mercer, and covered the White House. She spent nine years as a reporter for The Baltimore Sun, where she wrote about homicide detectives, gang leaders, indicted politicians and other characters you might remember from “The Wire.”
Annie grew up in Connecticut and graduated from Wellesley College with a degree in political science. She has paid rent on three continents, owns her own pool cue and races sailboats on the Anacostia River.
Annie will start on Dec. 10. Please join us in welcoming her.
