Announcement from Director of Emerging News Products Chris Meighan and Editor and Creative Director of The Lily Amy King:

We are excited to announce that Amy Cavenaile will become deputy design director for the Emerging News Products team.

Amy joined our team in April 2015 as a designer for our highly visual national app, known internally as Rainbow. She quickly established herself as a creative force, elevating the app’s visuals with her bold use of typography and conceptual illustration skills. When we launched The Post’s Snapchat Discover channel, Amy created a style guide and worked with other designers to display our journalism in a dynamic way for this new platform.

Amy has played a critical role in the development of The Lily as an art director on the team since its conception, surprising us with her endless visual styles. Highlights of her time with The Lily include: establishing style guidelines for the Thursday newsletter, a single-topic edition of Lily Lines; art directing the first month of Lily Lit Club, The Lily’s Instagram-only book club; and conceptualizing and organizing The Lily’s mural at Union Market.

Amy’s unique designs inspire her coworkers to push their own limits. She juggles designing daily stories and managing large-scale projects with ease, a skill that makes her a perfect fit for this role. As deputy design director, Amy will focus on creating a consistent, engaging app experience. She’ll continue to work with the Snapchat and Lily teams.

Amy started her career as a designer at the Omaha World-Herald in 2014. She graduated from Ball State University with a degree in journalism graphics.

Please join us in congratulating Amy on her promotion.
