Announcement from Director of Social and Operations Mark Smith and Senior Director of Audience Ryan Kellett:
We are thrilled to announce that Bryan Flaherty is joining the Audience team as an operations editor for the Sports section.
In his new role, Bryan will ensure that the Sports section implements its varied set of digital strategies, adopts improved workflows and best practices, and acts quickly as coverage opportunities emerge.
Bryan first joined Post Sports in 2011 as an editor for Reach for the Wall, a vertical focused on youth, high school and national-level swimming. He has also been a multiplatform editor and, since 2016, a digital night editor. In that role, Bryan has worked through NFL, MLB, NBA and NHL playoffs, two Olympics and more than a dozen tennis and golf majors. Bryan was also a key force behind Sports’ dynamic social coverage of last year’s Stanley Cup run by the Capitals and the MLB All-Star Game and Home Run Derby at Nationals Park. We’re reasonably sure he’s sent more alerts than anyone else in Sports.
Bryan grew up in Falls Church. He has a Bachelor’s in political science from the University of Florida and a Master's in social sciences from the University of Chicago. When he’s not working, Bryan can be found hiking with his camera, experimenting in the kitchen or playing ultimate Frisbee.
His first day on Audience will be April 15.
Please join us in congratulating Bryan on his new role.
