Announcement from Sports Editor Matt Vita, Deputy Sports Editor Matt Rennie and Sports Night Editor Micah Pollack:
We are very excited to announce that Sarah Larimer is moving to Sports as an editor on the night desk. In her new role, Sarah will be responsible for our digital file in the evening, shaping and editing coverage, overseeing our social media strategy and coordinating with day editors to create a seamless transition from dayside to nightside. It’s a role Sarah has been filling part-time in recent months as she worked a few shifts each week on the night desk.
Sarah came to The Post in 2014 after reporting and editing stints with The Associated Press Miami bureau, TBD.com and ESPN’s Grantland. At The Post she has been a general assignment reporter, where she contributed to breaking news coverage and wrote stories on education, national news, sports and other subjects. She has also spent some time in Metro, focusing on higher education. In addition to filling in as an editor in Sports, she has written several sports stories, including last year’s first-person account of her ride down the Lake Placid luge track and this year’s piece on Gritty, the Philadelphia Flyers’ new mascot. She’s also a careful and thoughtful line editor.
Sarah has experience, energy and enthusiasm, all qualities she’ll put to great use in Sports. We can’t wait to get her started. Her first day in her new role will be April 29.
