The Washington Post Live announces 116th Congress: State of Play, a new live interview series providing a look inside Capitol Hill and its new leaders. The series will launch with interviews featuring Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi and Republican House Leader Kevin McCarthy, both in conversation with Washington Post National Political Reporter Robert Costa.

Speaker Pelosi will discuss her legislative priorities for the 116th Congress, leading the diverse House Democratic Caucus, and where she might find common ground with President Trump, as well as her Republican colleagues. Leader McCarthy will give insight into his working relationship with the White House and why he believes President Trump will be re-elected next year, and discuss pressing legislative issues surrounding immigration and border security, health care and more.
