Announcement from Features Editor Liz Chang, Deputy Features Editors David Malitz and Mitch Rubin:
We are excited to announce that Jada Yuan is joining Features to be a political feature writer.
Jada will join the Style general assignment team to cover the East Wing of the White House and First Lady Melania Trump as well as media personalities and others in the greater political sphere, including the many people currently running for president.
A lively, insightful writer, Jada most recently was the first “52 Places Traveler” for The New York Times, reporting on every destination in its annual 52 Places to Go list during a single year. She wrote a weekly column, took photographs and posted regularly to social media while coordinating her own logistics and, as she describes it, “trying to take in this incredible chance to connect with kind people across six continents.” She was offered the one-year journey after a selection process that began with more than 13,000 job applicants.
Before that, she spent more than 17 years at New York Magazine, writing celebrity profiles, covering presidential conventions, film festivals and other cultural events. Her cover stories and feature profiles have included Stevie Nicks, Samuel L. Jackson, Ava DuVernay, and Bill Murray.
Jada has also freelanced for a number of magazines, including Bloomberg Businessweek, Elle, Glamour and Vogue.
She grew up in Pojoaque, New Mexico, a rural valley between Los Alamos and Santa Fe, and graduated from Yale University with a degree in history.
Please join us in welcoming Jada to The Post when she arrives July 15.
