Announcement from Multiplatform Editing Chief Jesse Lewis, Deputy Multiplatform Editing Chief Courtney Rukan and Multiplatform Senior Editor Brian Cleveland:

We are pleased to announce that Missy Khamvongsa will take the reins as the multiplatform editor for our Weekend section, working closely with Camille Kilgore to reshape the weekly entertainment section for digital and print.

In her two years on the multiplatform desk, Missy has focused mainly on digital editing, becoming the Multiplatform Desk’s lead editor on the Live Blog. She also filled in as deputy Real Estate editor for portions of 2018 and 2019.

Before moving to the multiplatform desk, Missy worked in Sports for more than a decade — first as a news aide in 2006 (while she was still an undergrad at American University), and later as a copy editor. Her last few years in the department were spent working primarily on digital endeavors, editing what is affectionately called The Blog Pod -- The Early Lead, D.C. Sports Bog and Fancy Stats. Missy also edited content for major events — live blogs for World Cups, Olympics, NCAA tournaments and Super Bowls. She was part of a small team of editors who worked with The Post’s developers on the first Heliograf project in the newsroom for the 2016 Summer Olympics.

Born and raised in Northern Virginia, Missy has been a Wizards fan since before she could walk. She also has a passion for pop culture that makes her a natural fit to edit a section about everything there is to see and do in the region.

Please congratulate Missy on her new role on the Multiplatform Desk.
