A graduate of the University of Cambridge, with a bachelor’s in middle eastern studies, Zach studied and lived in China, Iran and Syria. He originally hails from Manchester, England, and is a lifelong Red – a fact that surely won’t be held against him by his new boss, Peter Stevenson, who is an Arsenal fan.

Zach lives in Northwest Washington with his wife Emily, the Washington bureau chief for Sky News. Please join us in welcoming Zach on Sept. 9.
