Announcement from Executive Features Editor Liz Seymour and Deputy Features Editors Mitch Rubin and David Malitz:

We are happy to announce that Helena Andrews-Dyer will be joining the pop culture team when she returns from maternity leave in March.

Helena will write news and features about our most popular topic area, reporting on movies, music, TV, celebrities and other forms of culture in her distinctive voice.

Helena joined The Post in 2013. Since becoming a member of the Reliable Source team, she has covered several state dinners, the annual White House Correspondents dinner, the Kennedy Center Honors, and the Mark Twain Prize. She’s been a fixture on countless red carpets and interviewed dozens of celebrities, including Tom Hanks, Cher, Samuel Jackson and John Cena. Helena has reported on Kanye West’s bizarre appearance in the Oval Office, and former first lady Michelle Obama’s merch-filled book tour.

Before joining The Post, Helena was a contributing editor at xoJane, a digital women’s magazine founded by Jane Pratt. She holds a bachelor’s in English from Columbia University and a master’s in journalism from Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism.

She lives with her husband, Washington IT consultant Robert Dyer, and the couple’s two-year-old daughter, Sally Rose, in the Bloomingdale neighborhood of the District.
