On Thursday, October 17, The Washington Post will host Chasing Cancer, a live event shining a spotlight on the war on cancer, the power of advocacy, and the environmental and lifestyle factors that may hold the key to significantly reducing the risk of cancer.

Featured guests include the Grammy award-winning rock band, Imagine Dragons. Dan Reynolds, Wayne Sermon, Ben McKee and Daniel Platzman founded The Tyler Robinson Foundation in 2013, to honor the passing of a young fan, Tyler Robinson. Imagine Dragons was one of Tyler’s favorite bands and helped him during the time he was battling cancer. The foundation helps children and their families with the many unseen costs of pediatric cancer.

Additional speakers include Acting Director of the National Cancer Institute Douglas R. Lowy, MD, Director of Oncology for the U.S. Food and Drug Administration Richard Pazdur, MD and YouTube star Dr. Mikhail “Mike” Varshavski who will discuss groundbreaking new treatments, innovations in drug policy, the latest early detection methods and how to prevent disease before it even occurs.
