Announcement from Executive Features Editor Liz Seymour, Deputy Features Editor Mitch Rubin and Deputy Features Editor David Malitz:

We are delighted to announce that Christine Loman, a social media producer on The Post’s Audience team, will become Carolyn Hax’s editor.

In this new role, Christine will develop and execute a strategy to increase the audience for Carolyn’s engaging work. She will edit Carolyn’s columns, produce her online chats and partner with colleagues across the company to expand the readership of one of The Post’s most popular personalities.

Since joining The Post in 2018 from Syracuse.com — where she was social media lead and a member of its editorial board — Christine has taken charge on many fronts, including sub-brand account security and best practices for journalist safety. She has also managed the newsroom’s verification efforts and has gotten many of us those shiny blue check marks on social platforms.

Christine quickly became the social team’s metrics lead, teaching herself Python to automate a weekly report that tracks top-performing social posts. She also managed the team’s vendor partnerships and trained dozens of Post staffers to use Dataminr and Crowdtangle. Her expertise in using Dataminr led her to partner with Graphics last year on a piece that tracked every reported shooting in the United States on a single day.

Christine starts in Features on March 8. Please join us in congratulating her.
