The Washington Post today announced it will return as the official media sponsor of the 17th annual DC JazzFest. The signature event, DC JazzFest at The Wharf, will take place in-person at the District Wharf and online September 4-5.

Post journalists will serve as moderators for discussions and emcees as part of the festival programming. The Lily, a women-focused publication of The Washington Post, will present “Gender Diversity in Jazz,” a special panel discussion on September 4 at 12:30pm ET that will explore women’s equity and gender-based challenges in jazz. The Lily deputy editor Lena Felton will moderate the conversation with jazz instrumentalists Regina Carter and Jenny Scheinman, and DC Jazz Festival CEO Sunny Sumter. Post on-air reporter Libby Casey will also serve as an emcee during the festival.

The festival will include more than 20 concerts, interviews and events featuring international and Washington, D.C.-based talent such as Regina Carter, John Scofield, D-Nice, Maria Schneider Orchestra and others.
