Announcement from Director of Photography MaryAnne Golon and Senior Photo Editor Dee Swann:

We are delighted to announce that Jessie Adams is joining The Post as our first photo licensing editor.

Jessie will be the photo team’s creative liaison for licensing photography for the newsroom, marketing, public relations and our business colleagues. She will guide our professional relationship with Getty Images, the agency that handles our original photography distribution beyond our news service. Jessie will provide a crucial link between the newsroom and business teams.

Jessie is an experienced image rights manager who champions visual storytelling through strong communication and the preservation of editorial integrity. She has worked the last six years coordinating image licensing requirements for the newsroom, marketing and editorial staffs at Science magazine. Her passion for teamwork and her positive attitude provide a refreshing balance for handling the many challenges of copyright compliance.

She is an instructional assistant at George Washington University, where she shares her knowledge of rights management with students pursuing master’s degrees in publishing.

Jessie is a California native who received her B.A. in global studies from the University of California at Santa Barbara. She has been a D.C. resident for the last decade and now lives in College Park with her husband, Stuart, and their dog, Callie. She enjoys cooking and exploring the outdoors in her free time.

Please join us in welcoming Jessie, who starts Jan. 3.
