John Kelly receives humanitarian award by D.C. non-profit So Others Might Eat

Kelly receives this honor in recognition of his leadership in The Washington Post’s Helping Hand initiative

So Others Might Eat (SOME) will honor Washington Post Columnist John Kelly with The Father Horace McKenna Humanitarian Award in recognition of his leadership in The Washington Post’s charitable giving initiative, Helping Hand. The award is the highest honor bestowed by SOME, a D.C.-based nonprofit organization that aids individuals experiencing homelessness and financial insecurity.

The Washington Post’s Helping Hand initiative helps facilitate significant financial donations from Washington Post readers to local nonprofit organizations in the Washington, D.C. metro area. Kelly highlights the work of each nonprofit in his “John Kelly’s Washington” columns in The Post.

SOME, a past beneficiary of Helping Hand, will recognize Kelly along with several other honorees at their Break the Cycle Gala on November 5th.
