Announcement from Executive Features Editor Ben Williams and Deputy Features Editor Mitch Rubin:

We are excited to announce that Lindsey Underwood is joining The Post as the Features department’s first breaking news editor. She will lead a new team devoted to breaking news coverage in entertainment, fashion, media and politics within the Style section.

Underwood joins The Post from the New York Times’s Styles desk, where she edited news and enterprise stories on a wide range of topics, including the creator economy, the world of reality television and celebrities. Her breadth of knowledge around popular culture is apparent in stories that she edited on “Jeopardy!” winners, changes in the podcast industry and, well, “boob tape.”

She started at the Times on the audience development team, then moved to Vogue to lead its social media strategy and eventually returned to the Times’s Styles desk as an editor. She previously worked at Slate and the Brookings Institution.

Underwood graduated from the University of Missouri with a bachelor’s degree in journalism. She resides in Los Angeles and will be based there. Her first day is March 27. Please join us in welcoming her to The Post.
