Announcement from Cameron Barr, Anne Kornblut and David Finkel:

We’re happy to announce a new addition to National Enterprise: Monica Hesse, who will be joining us for the rest of the year.  Monica is one of the Post’s most brilliant writers and original thinkers, and we’re glad that someone who started a recent story on I-95 with a three word lede – “I-95. You donkey.” – will be bringing such talents to a team of longform writers.

Monica comes to us from a childhood spent in Normal, Ill., and we look forward to hearing a lot about that.  In addition to her work at the Post, she is the author of two well-received YA books, one of which was shortlisted for the UK’s Kitschie Golden Tentacle Award, a great award sponsored in part by a rum company. Monica tells us she won a bottle of rum, and we look forward to welcoming that, too.
