Announcement from National Editor Cameron Barr, National Deputy Editor Anne Kornblut and Senior Political Editor Steven Ginsberg:
We’re excited to announce that Rebecca Sinderbrand will join the National staff in the newly created role of Political News Editor. Rebecca will be responsible for the vision and execution of Post Politics and GovBeat and help shape the direction of our overall political report.
Rebecca joins us from Politico, where she was the deputy White House editor. Before that, she worked at CNN, where she directed the Political Ticker and oversaw coverage of the White House, Capitol Hill and campaigns for Anderson Cooper 360. Rebecca has also covered politics and national news for the AP and Newsweek, for which she wrote memorably about playing campaign-plane card games with a certain big-jawed governor of Vermont. “Howard Dean keeps losing. But he won’t quit,” she wrote, capturing the essence of his presidential candidacy in just eight words.
Rebecca will inaugurate her enviable commute – she lives not far away on 15th St. NW –on August 4. Please join us in welcoming her to The Washington Post.
