The Washington Post

Susan Hogan joins the night homepage team

Announcement from Eric Rich and Ben Pillow:

We are delighted to announce the addition of Susan Hogan to the night homepage team as an overnight producer and editor. Susan joins The Post from the Star Tribune in Minneapolis, where she was the lone overnight digital producer and reporter, managing all phases of its Web site, iPad app and social media accounts.

Susan is from a two-stoplight town in rural Missouri and came to journalism from academia. Her experience from more than two decades in the industry makes her a great fit for the many hats an overnight editor has to wear. She has worked as a reporter in Dallas, Chicago and elsewhere, primarily covering agriculture and religion stories (or, as she called it, the “holy cow” beat). Susan has also been a music columnist, editorial writer and blogger, and she worked for four years as a self-employed Web designer, editor and content producer.

Susan is a consultant with the International Center for Journalists and has earned multiple master’s degrees and a Web developer certificate. Outside of work, she enjoys volunteer work, landscaping and rooting for the Minnesota Lynx (WNBA champs in 2011 and 2013, she reminds). With this move, she hopes she’ll never have a reason to use a winter roof rake again. Please join us in welcoming Susan to the hub. Her first day is Monday.
