Announcement from Greg Manifold, design director, and David Griffin, visuals editor:
Brian Gross will be promoted to Deputy Design Director.
Brian has been at The Post since 2010 helping lead our tremendous Sports coverage and designing projects throughout the newsroom. In his current role as Lead Senior Designer, he helped the department broaden its reach digitally while also working to help improve our design consistency.
Brian is a creative force, graceful under pressure and a tremendous multi-tasker – all traits that will serve him well in his new role. In his story telling, he is always looking for ways to present and layer information whether in print or online. Brian joined us from The Boston Globe, where he was the lead Sports designer for two Red Sox World Series titles, three Patriots Super Bowls and a Celtics NBA championship. He and his wife Jill and their two children, live in Kensington.
Emmet Smith will be promoted to Lead Senior Designer.
Emmet has made a tremendous impact in the six months since he joined from The Cleveland Plain Dealer. His design work and art direction has helped bolster our already strong features design team. Emmet has proven to be a thoughtful and imaginative designer who is always focused on making sure his work is rooted in the story. Emmet and his wife Emily and their three children also live in Kensington.
Please join us in congratulating them on their new roles.
