Washington Post Chief Revenue Officer Jed Hartman announces new VP of Global Sales:

I am excited to announce that Anthony DeMaio is returning to The Post as our new vice president of Global Sales. Anthony will report to me.  Anthony comes to us from Slate where he has been publisher since October 2014 . He previously served as vice president of national sales and associate publisher also at Slate. Prior to joining Slate in 2012, Anthony was with Washington Post Digital, where he held several positions including director of East Coast advertising. He is widely known and respected in the advertising community and brings to us tremendous energy, passion, creativity, relationships and experience.

In this role, Anthony will oversee our global sales offices which call on many of our largest and most strategic national and international accounts.  He will lead our sales efforts in bringing the best and most creative ideas into the marketplace to help our clients leverage our unprecedented global audience expansion and exceed their goals. The timing is ideal, as Anthony can supercharge the momentum we have created this year, led by the outstanding work of Katie Emery and Ashley Vermillion-Carpenter, both recently promoted, new additions Paul Tsigrikes and Alex Treadway, and Sheevani Raikundalia and the rest of our team. We beat our budget for the first half of the year, and have seen double-digit digital revenue growth. The Post also just set another traffic record in June!

Anthony earned his B.A. and M.S. from Boston University. Anthony now lives with his wife and two sons in Westchester County where he trains for his many athletic performances, including three Ironman competitions and 30 marathons (and counting)… he was also a college wrestler which has clearly toughened him up for our ever-changing industry!
