We are thrilled to announce that Chiqui Esteban will be joining the graphics team as a Senior Graphics Editor on March 28.
In his most recent role, Chiqui was the Deputy Director for Art, Maps and Graphics at National Geographic. Before that, he was the Graphics Director at The Boston Globe. There, he contributed to the coverage of the Boston Marathon bombing that won the Pulitzer Prize for Breaking News and the Online Journalism Award for Breaking News. His work has been honored multiple times by the Malofiej International Infographics Awards, the Society of News Design, the European Newspaper Awards, APSE, and others.
A native of Spain, Chiqui spent much of his career in Spanish newsrooms like Publico, La Voz de Galicia and lainformacion.com. He has a wonderfully diverse skillset that includes digital design and development, 3-D modeling, illustration, research and reporting, data visualization and editing. He brings a depth of experience and boundless enthusiasm for exploring the best way to tell stories visually.
