Using Amazon’s voice-controlled virtual assistant, Alexa, users can get the latest 2016 news written by Chris Cillizza on Amazon Echo, Fire TV, Amazon Tap, and Echo Dot
Alexa-enabled device owners can now access the latest Washington Post political news and analysis, via the device’s voice-controlled virtual assistant, Alexa. Chris Cillizza, founder of The Fix, will write a Flash Briefing to deliver the latest news and analysis on the 2016 presidential election. Flash Briefings are pre-recorded news briefs and segments available on all Alexa-enabled devices. The Post briefings will be available once a day to start.
“As more and more people use connected devices, we’re excited to experiment with this platform and reach as many audiences as we can,” said Joey Marburger, director of digital products and design at The Post. “Delivering news in this format is yet another way we can engage with busy readers who want options.” The Post is currently available on a variety of different platforms and devices.
The Post is exploring the addition of audio and other topics to its Alexa Flash Briefing.
