The Washington Post today announced that readers are now able to pay for Post digital products with the Payment Request API in Chrome. This convenient mobile payment method will allow Android users on the latest version of Chrome to simply select a credit card from their Google wallet to pre-fill the payment form.
“As one of the early adopters of this new feature and with more and more of our readers accessing The Post via mobile, we’re excited to offer this quick and secure payment option,” said David Merrell, lead product manager for The Washington Post. “People are more likely to complete a transaction when the checkout process is easy, so it’s important that we help reduce payment friction wherever possible.”
The Post also recently introduced Apple Pay for purchasing Post subscriptions.
