Users can monitor trip progress and time to destination while browsing in Post app

The Washington Post today announced the integration of its news app with Uber’s Trip Experiences API, creating a tailored reading experience for The Post’s growing mobile audience. When in the Post app, Uber riders will be able to view a trip progress bar and see time to destination.

“Uber riders are often checking how much time they have left on their ride during their trip, and we want to make that information readily available while they’re reading Post content without having to toggle between screens,” said Adam Levy, product manager for The Washington Post. “We’re always considering the platforms our readers are using, and in this case, we aim to make the reading experience seamless and enjoyable while riding in an Uber.”

To see trip progress while catching up on the latest headlines from The Post, users should go to their settings, tap “connect to Uber” and respond to the in-app prompt. After a user logs in with his Uber credentials, the experience will automatically start during Uber trips.

As part of the Trip Experience, The Post will soon offer all users unlimited digital access during their Uber ride for up to 30 days. Connect Uber by downloading The Washington Post Classic app for iPhone here.
