Washington Post Copy Editors Awarded for Excellence in Headline Writing

Washington Post multiplatform editors Jim Webster and Wayne Lockwood were recognized today for excellence in headline writing as winners of the American Copy Editors Society’s (ACES) 2016 Headline Contest.

Jim Webster took first place in the individual awards category for newspapers over 200,001 circulation, marking his fourth win in the ACES competition, and Wayne Lockwood placed third in the same category.

ACES’s 2016 Headline Contest aims to reward exceptional headline writing in all types of media, from newspapers to social media networks.
