The Washington Post names Clancy Ryan the Head of Technology Sales where he will drive revenue growth for Arc Publishing, The Post’s fast-growing software-as-a-service business, and RED, The Post’s research experimentation and development group, which builds industry-leading ad technology.

Clancy will leverage his deep experience in software sales to allow us to broaden our client base and build on the extraordinary success we’ve seen to date,” said Scot Gillespie, CTO at The Post. “It’s clear that we’ve developed the fastest, most intuitive and efficient modern-day CMS available and we are excited to have Clancy on board as we take the business to the next level.”

Ryan was previously CRO at Punchkick Interactive (PKI), a leading mobile app and web development agency, overseeing their service and product business. He played an integral role in launching their first SaaS product launch, which grew quickly within Oracle’s Taleo platform and includes clients like TransUnion, Credit Suisse, Marriott and more. Prior to joining PKI, Ryan served as the Vice President of Sales at Glu Mobile where he grew revenue upwards of $240 million through partnerships with Apple, Amazon, Facebook, Google and Microsoft. Ryan also served as a Regional Sales Director for the Discovery Channel.

Ryan is a Professor of Sales at DePaul University and founded their Center for Sales Leadership. At DePaul, he earned an MBA in E-Commerce & International Business from the Kellstadt Graduate School of Business and a BS in Marketing. He will be based in Chicago.
