Announcement from National Editor Steven Ginsberg, Deputy National Editor Lori Montgomery, Senior Politics Editor Peter Wallsten and White House Editor Dan Eggen:
We are excited to announce that Seung Min Kim is joining our White House team.

Seung Min joins us from Politico, where she has distinguished herself as one of Capitol Hill’s most intrepid and well-sourced reporters. She will take on a newly created position: a White House correspondent based primarily on Capitol Hill. In that role, she will focus on the relationship between President Trump and Congress, capturing the key personalities, policies and other forces at the intersection of the executive and legislative branches.

In her eight years at Politico, Seung Min has delivered frequent scoops on Senate leadership while writing extensively about immigration, Supreme Court fights and other major battles on Capitol Hill. She has also done stints at USA Today and the Star-Ledger in Newark, N.J., as well as internships at the St. Paul Pioneer Press, the St. Petersburg Times and the Des Moines Register.

Seung Min grew up in Iowa City, Iowa, and is a proud graduate of the University of Iowa, as well as its student newspaper, The Daily Iowan, and American University’s graduate school of journalism. She and her husband Jeff, who met as volunteers at Little Lights Urban Ministries in the District, live in Arlington. Her first day will be February 26. Please join us in welcoming her.
