The Washington Post today announced it will return as the official media sponsor of DC JazzFest presented by Events DC, which runs June 8-17, 2018. Over the course of 10 days and across more than 40 DC area venues, guests can enjoy more than 125 performances from both emerging and seasoned artists including Tony and Grammy Award winner Leslie Odom Jr., Chucho Valdés and Oliver Lake Big Band.

Washington Post Pop Music Critic Chris Richards and Federal Insider Columnist Joe Davidson will both serve as emcees over the course of the festival. Davidson will introduce a performance honoring the late pianist and composer Geri Allen at the June 14 presentation of “Jazz in the ‘Hoods” at 7:30 p.m. EST at Sixth & I. Guests can join Richards at the June 15 presentation of “Jazz in the ‘Hoods” at 6:00 p.m. EST at the Kennedy Center Millennium Stage where he will introduce the Howard jazz alums Christie Dashiell Quartet with C.V. Dashiell III.
