We are delighted to announce that Mark Lasswell will join the opinions section as associate op-ed editor. Mark served from 2012 to 2016 as editorial features editor of the Wall Street Journal, overseeing its op-ed pages. Before that he was deputy books editor at the Journal and worked for the Daily News and the New York Observer, among other publications. Most recently, he has been a visiting professor in the Writing Seminars department at Johns Hopkins University, teaching “Journalism & Opinion” and “Writers on Writing.” A native of Texas, who also grew up in St. Louis, Mark is a graduate of the University of Missouri. He is the editor of the forthcoming essay collection “Fight for Liberty: Defending Democracy in the Age of Trump” (PublicAffairs). His first day will be June 11.
