Announcement from Director of Photography MaryAnne Golon, Photo Editor Robert Miller and Photographer Dudley M. Brooks:
We’re delighted to announce that Natalia Jimenez-Stuard is joining The Washington Post as a national photo editor.
Natalia joins The Post from NBC News where she spent seven years immersed in digital initiatives. While at NBC News, she worked across the newsroom to elevate storytelling through commissioned photography and original artwork. As the editor of “The Week in Pictures,” she offered readers a visual recap seen through compelling photography that eventually became the “Year in Pictures” annual showcase. She managed the @NBCNews Instagram account, growing the audience to more than 1 million and trained reporters and correspondents to use the platform as a tool to tell stories.
Early on in her career, she developed her skills for building visual narratives as an assistant to world-renowned photographers Alex Webb and Rebecca Norris Webb as they edited large bodies of photography into books. She also worked for a number of years at The Star Ledger in New Jersey.
Natalia is fluent in Spanish and French, and likes to find excuses to practice Italian. Born in London to Peruvian immigrants who later moved to the U.S., she now says that she is a New Yorker, but coming to Washington is actually a return to her elementary school roots in Bethesda.
Natalia studied photojournalism at Syracuse University. Please join us in welcoming her to the newsroom October 29.
