When the three sibling partners of Sturbridge Homes saw the opportunity to buy and develop a wooded lot in Hanover, Md., they pounced. “What makes this unique is its seclusion,” said Gina DeStefano, who runs Sturbridge with two brothers and a fourth partner.

Wrightmoore is a 12-lot enclave tucked into a forested nook that screens it off from surrounding residential and commercial development, including hundreds of homes at the adjacent Villages of Dorchester.

Wrightmoore single-family houses are two stories with a full basement (some have walk-out basements) and a two-car garage. The architectural style might be described as a contemporary interpretation of Colonial.

The houses, all variations on one floor plan, are clad in vinyl siding and come standard with a poured-concrete foundation that is stamped with a brick pattern and painted to match the siding. Stone veneer is an option along the bottom of the facade.

Three Wrightmoore homes are available for purchase, all of which will have an upgraded, finished basement, with a rec room, a bedroom and a full bathroom.

Interior options include a gas fireplace, a propane kitchen range, cabinet upgrades and smart home features. The smart home options include light and thermostat scheduling, keyless entry, computer network wiring, video monitoring and central vacuum systems.

Flexible space: The model home’s front door opens to a foyer that has a powder room on one side and a room that could be a study or an office on the other. (This space could also be left open to the staircase). Then a short hallway leads to the open-plan kitchen and living (great room) and dining areas.

The second floor has an owner’s bedroom suite at the top of the stairs, with a large en suite bathroom and a walk-in closet. This floor also has three smaller bedrooms, including one arranged as a nursery in the model home, another full bathroom and a laundry room.

The model home has the finished basement, with a rec room, a bedroom and a full bathroom, as well as unfinished space useful for storage.

Sturbridge participates in the Quality Builders Warranty program, which offers a 10-year warranty on some parts of the house and one- and two-year warranties on others. Sturbridge makes a visit after 11 months to correct any faults that have emerged.

Sturbridge, which specializes in developments of 10 to 75 houses, is flexible about floor plans and options, DeStefano said. “While we are a production builder, we will consider customization in our homes,” she said. “People like to customize their bathrooms. They have a vision of what they want their shower to look like.”

What’s nearby: Jessup Dorsey Park and Matthewstown Harmans Park, both Anne Arundel County parks, are nearby. Three golf clubs and two country clubs with golf courses, several gyms and three marinas are within a half-hour drive.

Arundel Mills, the largest mall in the state, is east of Wrightmoore, beyond a stand of trees. The mall’s businesses include a Costco, a casino hotel, restaurants ranging from fast food to fine dining, and a 24-screen movie theater. More shopping is available at the Shops at Arundel Preserve, which has, among other businesses, a liquor store, a dry cleaner, a nail spa, a Starbucks and several restaurants.
