This rich cocktail pairs a homemade orgeat (see related recipe) and palo cortado sherry with high-proof whiskey and lime for deep, complex results.


When you scale a recipe, keep in mind that cooking times and temperatures, pan sizes and seasonings may be affected, so adjust accordingly. Also, amounts listed in the directions will not reflect the changes made to ingredient amounts.

Tested size: 1 servings

  • Ice
  • 1 1/2 ounces high-proof bourbon, such as Wild Turkey Rare Breed
  • 3/4 ounce Pistachio Orgeat (see related recipe)
  • 3/4 ounce palo cortado sherry
  • 1/4 ounce fresh lime juice

Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Add the bourbon, Pistachio Orgeat, sherry and lime juice. Seal and shake vigorously, then remove the ice. Seal and shake vigorously a second time, to create a creamy consistency.

Strain through a fine-mesh strainer into a punch cup.
