Going for two: The Bison, who defeated Savannah State last weekend, haven’t won consecutive Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference games since 2007, and if they’re going to do it Saturday they’ll need to beat Florida A&M, a team they’ve defeated in Tallahassee only once, in 2002. Overall, the Bison have lost seven straight against the Rattlers and 27 of the teams’ 33 meetings all-time.

Battle of southpaws: Both teams feature freshman quarterbacks who throw left-handed — Greg McGhee of Howard and Damien Fleming of Florida A&M. McGhee earned his third MEAC rookie of the week honor after passing for 158 yards and three touchdowns in the win over Savannah State. Fleming is coming off a 245-yard, two-touchdown performance in a 34-7 win over Delaware State.

At a loss: Led by defensive end Sackie Kerkulah, the Bison’s defense ranks fifth in the Football Championship Subdivision in sacks with 19 and is tied for seventh in tackles for a loss with 44. Kerkulah, a 6-foot-4, 255-pound redshirt senior, has 9.5 tackles for a loss and 5.5 sacks. The Bison are also tied for seventh nationally with eight interceptions and 32nd in yards allowed (324.2 per game).
