Howard-Georgia Southern, Georgetown-Bucknell football previews
2 p.m. at Paulson Stadium, Statesboro, Ga.
The Bison (6-3) travel south to face the No. 7 Eagles (7-2), who were No. 1 in the FCS coaches’ poll until last weekend’s 31-28 loss to Appalachian State, which snapped Georgia Southern’s 14-game home winning streak. The Bison rank 17th nationally in rushing offense behind Georgia native Terrence Leffall. The Eagles rank first in rushing.
1 p.m. at Multi-Sport Field.
The banged-up Hoyas (4-5, 1-2 Patriot League) are coming off a bye week. Georgetown LB Robert McCabe needs just two tackles to break his own single-season program record of 134. He has the most tackles in FCS this season. CB Jeremy Moore has five interceptions (tied for third nationally) and three defensive scores this season. The Hoyas have lost four straight to the Bison (2-7, 0-4) and haven’t won at home against them since 2002.
