Defensive-minded Cincinnati leads UCLA at the half

A strong defensive effort helped No. 6 seed Cincinnati take a 33-30 lead into halftime of their South Region second-round game against No. 3 seed UCLA.

The Bearcats held the Bruins, who scored 97 points in their first round win over Kent State and led the nation in shooting percentage this season, to 38 percent shooting in the first half.

Bearcats senior guard Kevin Johnson leads all scorers with 11 points.
