North Carolina fans experienced a scare during the team’s Round of 16 matchup against Texas Southern on Friday when starting guard Joel Berry II briefly exited the game after he twisted his right ankle attempting to shoot a three during the second half.
Berry was able to get up on his own, but had a major limp as he was led to the locker room by one of the Tar Heels’ trainers.
Minutes later, however, Berry II reappeared on the bench, as word spread it wasn’t a serious injury.
And with just more than 11 minutes to go, Berry II was back in action.
Berry II ended the scoring in the first half of the game with a three-point jumper. It was his only made shot of the game.
Berry’s gone just one for seven in field goals and one for six in three-pointers thus far.
