The Redskins have five former Alabama players on their active roster: Jonathan Allen, Ryan Anderson, Ha Ha Clinton-Dix, Shaun Dion Hamilton and Daron Payne. (Two other ex-Alabama players, Arie Kouandjio and Cam Sims, are on injured reserve.) It’s still unclear which of those players were consulted before the team decided to claim Foster. At Redskins Park on Wednesday, Allen and Clinton-Dix told reporters that they did not talk to the front office about Foster before he was claimed.
“I didn’t talk to [Redskins president] Bruce [Allen] or anybody about it,” Clinton-Dix said.
“No, they didn’t talk to me [about Foster],” Allen said, via 106.7 The Fan’s Craig Hoffman. “I wasn’t one of them.”
Anderson and Hamilton declined to comment when asked by reporters whether they were consulted by the front office about Foster. Payne was not in the locker room and unavailable for comment.
“I’m just going to tell you, you’ve got to speak with the organization, the guys that are above me, on that decision,” Clinton-Dix said, according to Hoffman.
“One thing I can say is people are looking for him to fall, people are looking for him to make more mistakes,” Clinton-Dix asaid of Foster. “But being a human, we all make mistakes. Nobody’s perfect. I have high expectations for him when he walks into this building. I expect a lot from him. I expect for him to carry himself in the correct way, as a leader.”
The Redskins did not make any members of the front office available for comment on Wednesday, referring reporters to Williams’s statement on Tuesday.
