Tiger Woods is winning majors again, and you can now leave the flagstick in when putting from the green: Welcome to golf in 2019. But the most interesting change is the PGA Championship’s move from August — when the prospect of watching the game’s best slog through the unrelenting hellscape of a typical U.S. summer often took a back seat to such high-stakes endeavors as preseason NFL games — to May, giving the golf schedule more of a natural rhythm and breaking up the two-month siesta between the Masters and U.S. Open.

This year’s PGA Championship kicked off Thursday with a course-record 63 by Brooks Koepka that put him atop the leader board by one stroke over the far less heralded Danny Lee.

Here’s a nuts-and-bolts look at what to expect moving forward.
